This is the abandoned ghost town that was once was a thriving little community for the well to do people of which most came from Knoxville Tennessee. The residents were given half of the property value and lifetime leases when they became the property of the GSMNP back in the 30's. I think the last lease ended in 2001 and now all of them sit empty. The NPS says they are going to restore about 13 of them.
I grew up in a small town surrounded by corn fields and farm land in Northwest Ohio. Now I live in Walland Tennessee and enjoy the beauty of The Great Smoky Mountains. My interests include landscape, nature, macro, and natural light studio set ups. Any watermarks on the images will be removed after the sale. Thanks for looking at my photos.
